Selection in source pixels

All exports omit source EXIF/GPS. PNG/WebP retain transparency; JPG uses white. Colour is converted through sRGB.

How to use Blur Photo

  1. Choose one image. Drag across the preview to select a rectangle.
  2. Fine-tune X, Y, width and height with the labelled controls; choose blur strength.
  3. Process and inspect the result at full size before sharing.

Know before you export

This browser tool uses one rectangular region. The app offers more drawing tools. Blur is a visual effect and does not guarantee that faces, text or private details cannot be inferred. For sensitive content, remove it entirely.

JPG, PNG and static WebP. Up to 20 MB per file, 60 MB per batch, 12 files and 16 megapixels per image. Output is limited to 16 megapixels and 8,192 pixels per side. Browser memory may impose lower limits.

Source metadata is not copied. Browser colour conversion can change wide-gamut or HDR images. Keep your original files.

Common questions

Are faces detected automatically?

No. You choose the area manually. Check the whole image for other identifying details.

Is blur secure redaction?

No. Blur may leave recognisable information. Crop private details out when you need to remove them.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Processing runs locally in your browser with self-hosted code. Hosting access logs relate to page requests; selected photo bytes are not sent. See our privacy information.
